Maca Root or “Peruvian ginseng” is a root-like superfood that works to boost energy, sexual performance, stamina, and fertility.
Maca is high in protein, dietary fiber, carbohydrates and micronutrients like vitamin B, vitamin C, vitamin E, calcium, potassium, iodine, copper, iron, zinc, and more.
Adding it to your diet can boost your athletic performance, treat or prevent high blood pressure, and enhance sexual health for both men and women.
There are numerous ways to incorporate maca into your diet, but an easy and fun way is to make a maca smoothie.
Nutritious Maca Breakfast Smoothie
Servings:1
Ingredients:
- 1 spoon of Maca
- 1 banana
- 2 spoons of Muesli
- few Strawberries
- Some honey (optional)
- ½-1 cup of Almond milk
- natural yogurt (optional-alternative to almond milk)
Directions:
Add ingredients to blender. Blend until smooth.
Choco Maca Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1 tsp Maca Powder
- ½ tsp Chia seeds (optional)
- Cacao Nibs (optional topping)
- ½ Banana
- ¼ tsp Cinnamon
- ½ tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 Tbsp Stevia (or sweetener of choice)
- 1 Cup unsweetened Almond Milk
- ½ to 1 Cup Ice<
Directions:
Place all ingredients except for the cacao nibs into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a large glass, top with cacao nibs (optional) and enjoy!
Vega Mint Maca Cookie Dough Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
- 1 scoop Vega One Chocolate All-In-One
- 1/2 cup raw unsalted cashews, soaked
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 2 tablespoons raw almond butter
- 1 teaspoon Vega maca powder
- ½ teaspoon natural mint extract
- 2 medium bananas
- 1 cup ice cubes
Directions:
Throw all of your ingredients into your blender (except for the ice) and blast on high for 30 to 60 seconds until smooth and creamy. Add the ice and blast again for just a few seconds until chilled and smooth.
Maca Madness Green Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 2 frozen bananas
- 1 cup spinach
- 2 TBS pure maple syrup
- 2 TBS almond butter
- 1 TBS ground flax seeds
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 TBS maca powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- 2 cups unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
Directions:
Place all ingredients into a high-speed blender and whirl away.
Use this recipe as a guide. Adjust measurements and ingredients as necessary.

Maca Chiller
Ingredients:
- 2 tsp Navitas Naturals Raw Maca Powder
- 1 Tbsp Navitas Naturals Lucuma Powder
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 Tbsp Macadamia Nuts (about 5)
- 2 Cups Almond Milk
- 2 Cups Almond Milk (pre-frozen into cubes)
- 1 Cup frozen Banana
- 1/2 Cup Almond Butter
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
Directions:
Blend ingredients and enjoy.

Maca Fertility Smoothie
Makes 5 cups
Ingredients:
- Coconut milk, full-fat, and/or kefir and/or yogurt, grass-fed, full-fat (4 cups)
- Maca powder (1/2 cup — or less depending on how much maca you want to take)
- Egg yolks from pastured chickens (6-8)
- Honey, raw or real maple syrup, to taste (I use 4 Tbsp or less)
- Coconut oil or raw, grass-fed cream (4 Tbsp)
Directions:
Put everything in the blender and mix until well blended.
Store the blender pitcher in the fridge (if you’re lazy like me) or you can transfer to a pitcher.
Drink 1/2 cup or more per day.
Raw Blueberry Maca Smoothie
Ingredients:
- Base: When it comes to smoothies, you can make them as thick or as thin as you like. For the base of this smoothie, I used the water from 1 coconut. You can also use filtered water. On rare occasions I use nut milks as my base.
- Add in as much blueberry as you want. I used about 1.5 cups
- Add 3 bananas (frozen bananas will make it thicker and frothier, more like an ice cream.)
- A little vanilla, and/or cinnamon powder
- 1 Tablespoon of maca powder.
Directions:
Blend until smooth, serve and enjoy!
Chocolate Raspberry M Smoothie
- ½ cup frozen raspberries
- ½ banana
- ½ teaspoon maca powder
- 1 tablespoon cacao powder
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 cup almond milk
- Ice as needed
Directions:
Blend in your blender until smooth and enjoy!
Strawberry Banana and Maca Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups homemade almond milk
- 1 cup organic strawberries
- 1/2 organic banana
- 4 tablespoons vanilla protein powder (your favorite brand)
- 1 tablespoon organic maca powder
- Optional
- 1 tablespoon organic Hemp Oil
- 2 teaspoons organic Spirulina Crunchies
Directions:
Put all ingredients in a Vitamix or blender and blend until well combined.
Optional: Garnish with Spirulina Crunchies.

Green Smoothie Superfood with Avocado and Maca
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup hemp milk
- 1 Cup kale packed
- 2 Cups frozen pineapple
- 2 kiwis (whole)
- 1/2 avocado
- 1 banana
- 1 T. coconut oil
- 1 T. maca powder
Directions:
Place all of the ingredients into the Vitamix. Blend slowly and then turn to high for one minute. Enjoy!
Maca Inchi Shake
Ingredients:
- ½ Cup Sacha Inchi Seeds
- 2 Cups Water
- 1 Medium Frozen Banana
- 2 tsp Navitas Naturals Raw Maca Powder
- 1 Tbsp Navitas Naturals Lucuma Powder
- 3 Medjool Dates, pitted
- 1 Tbsp Navitas Naturals Wheatgrass Powder
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- ¼ tsp Sea Salt
- 10 Ice Cubes
- 2 Tbsp Chocolate Covered Sacha Inchi Seeds, chopped (optional)

Almond Butter Maca Madness Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 2 frozen bananas
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tablespoon almond butter
- 1 heaping tablespoon maca powder
- ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- optional: raw almonds for garnishing
Instructions:
Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend for 2-3 minutes or until smooth and creamy.

Maca Berry Blast Smoothie
Organic ingredients used:
- 1 glass of Brazil nut milk
- 1 banana
- 3/4 cup of blueberries
- 1 teaspoon of maqui berry powder
- 1 teaspoon of maca
- 1 teaspoon of coconut palm sugar (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon of raw coconut oil
- 1.5 tablespoons of protein powder

Finally, put all of the organic ingredients into the blender for 20 seconds.
Maca Moxie Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 12 oz. unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tbsp psyllium husk
- 1 tbsp pure cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp ground chia seed
- 1 tsp maca powder
- 1 small banana (sliced and frozen)
- 3 ice cubes
Directions:
Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.
Serve immediately. Makes one serving. Enjoy!
Strawberry Vanilla Maca Smoothie
Makes: About two 12-ounce servings
Ingredients:
- 1 medium banana (frozen ahead of time if desired)
- 1 heaping cup strawberries, hulled
- 1 cup vanilla almond milk, or as desired
- 2 to 4 teaspoons maca powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 to 6 ice cubes
Directions:
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and process until completely smooth. Divide between two glasses.
If too thick, add a bit more almond milk. Serve at once.
Mocha Maca Banana Smoothie
Makes: Two 12-ounce smoothies
Ingredients:
- 1 heaping teaspoon organic instant coffee
- 2 teaspoons cocoa or cacao powder (or see variation, below)
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 2 frozen bananas, broken into chunks
- 1 cup vanilla almond milk (sweetened or not)
- 1 to 2 tablespoons maca powder
- Pinch of cinnamon
- Liquid sweetener (agave, stevia, maple syrup, etc.) if using unsweetened almond milk, to taste, optional
- Ice for serving, optional
Directions:
Add the instant coffee and cocoa powder to boiling water in a mug and stir to dissolve. Pour this into a blender.
Add the bananas, almond milk, maca powder, and cinnamon and process until completely smooth.
Divide between two glasses. Taste to see if you’d like a little more sweetener, and/or thin with a little more almond milk if too thick.
Add ice to the beverage if you’d like to enjoy it cold, and serve at once.
Variation:
If you have a high-speed blender, use 4 squares of bittersweet chocolate instead of the cocoa powder.
Not So Moody Maca Smoothie
Serves one
Ingredients:
- 1 cup frozen cherries
- ½ pear
- 1 medjool date, pitted
- 2 teaspoons cacao
- 1 teaspoon maca
- 2 tablespoons sunflower seeds
- 1 whole vanilla bean, chopped
