Fat Burning Avocado Smoothie

(Image and Recipe Source:  I Love Smoothies)

This avocado detox smoothie is one of my favorite recipes for the summer time.  It is loaded with antioxidants from the berries that are in this smoothie.  You can use any type of berry that you want. I typically use a combination of blueberries and raspberries when making healthy smoothies.

• 8-12 ounce of all natural coconut water
• 1 tbsp of chia seeds
• 1 cup of organic frozen berries
• 2-3 cups of fresh spinach
• Half of a large avocado or a whole small avocado

To make the Avocado Berry Smoothie put 8 ounces of all-natural coconut water into your blender, add 1 tbsp of chia seeds, 1 cup of frozen organic berries, 2 cups of spinach and half of a large avocado. Blend the combination for a full minute on high power or until it is well mixed to the right consistency.

In this recipe by I Love Smoothies, it goes on give you a way to make a lighter version of the smoothie by adding a few more ounces of coconut water to the mix. For a heavier consistency add a half or full tbsp of chia seeds.

I Love Smoothies, also gives some great ideas for variations of this drink such as using coconut milk, almond milk or almond-coconut milk in the place of coconut water. You can also add a ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 tbsp of honey, a scoop of protein powder, low-fat Greek yogurt, and ice to the mix.
