Plukenetia volubilis is the scientific name for Inca Inchi Seed Oil. It is also known as Inca Peanut Oil or Sacha Inchi Oil and is common to the rainforests or the Amazon where it stands as an important food in many tribes.

The flower of this plant bears a seed in its eight month. Its fruit is characterized by its multi-pronged capsular pattern that is green in color. When it ripens, the green nut changes its color to deep brown-black and its flavor is unique with a mild nuttiness, akin to a woody flavored peanut. The star-like pattern fruit encloses a dark brown seed that are slightly enlarged in the center and squashed towards the edges.
